baked a cake today. banana carrot cake. using gan's 'oven'

70% 60% success.

1)cake turned out to tbe a bread.
2)it didnt 'rise' enuf.
3)it tasted good. cinnamon saves my cake...
4)a tad too 'black'.

please leave tips on how to make ur cake lighter and softer. there is gonna be another huge cake making experiment in my kitchen this coming sunday when my new oven comes in... or perhaps monday...
